Poise + Performance: Kevin Samuels

In this feature we highlight Masters Pentathlete Kevin Samuels, always hungry to maintain high performance.

 


What inspires you?

What inspires me is to be the best I can be in every thing in do so I can inspire the youth to achieve their goal and not let anyone distract them from that.


What's your specific athletic goal for this year?

Currently complete a pentathlon for indoor and win a national championship in indoor.

What is the most significant challenge you are facing in reaching your goal?

Finances. Lacking of income and bills it’s hard to keep the adequate training I need.


What is a technical aspect of your sport you are focusing on or have previously improved?

My conditioning has improved because my coach has me running 30-60 miles in off season and 15 miles a month during the season along with what I have to do at practice.

What is your approach to Recovery?

I work from the CryoPlace cryotherapy studio so I get compression therapy and cryo freeze therapy which enhances my recovery and reduces my muscle soreness and inflammation.
